About Us
We have been singing together since 1989 (or was it 1898) when we were in a trio, and later a quartet, called Cat's Whiskers. Based in Southampton, we have also enjoyed notoriety locally as individual performers around the folk clubs and other music venues in the South.
Brian's been singing in folk clubs and suchlike since the 1960s, and singing mostly his own compositions since 2006 or thereabouts. He's run folk clubs and festivals, played in pubs, clubs, concerts, festivals and community gatherings, and literally wrote the book on MCing folk clubs - it's called "So You Want To Be A Folk Club MC?". He's recorded several CDs, and you can find out more about these at MySpace below.
A prolific and respected songwriter/performer, and showcased admirably in the new CD "May Contain Nuts".
Jeff Henry has been performing since the early 1970's on his own, and in various collaborations. Brought up on a diet of Bob Dylan and
Al Stewart, he later 'discovered' English folk music through the likes of such luminaries as Martin Carthy.
He has dabbled in songwriting over the years, but has usually contended that with so many good songs out there, there was little reason to write his own. However, the creatice juices were not to be denied and the last couple of years have seen Jeff writing and performing more of his own material.
