Welcome To The Store
Good evening, folks, and welcome to the store; let me take you on a guided tour.
We'll start here at the door, wide open twenty-four
Seven heated by these blowers from the ceiling to the floor,
For the public.
You'll notice that it's really nice and bright, even in the middle of the night.
We don't use natural light, 'cause you can't control it quite,
And to make the goods look good it must be absolutely right,
For the public.
Now here we are in aisles one and two, with our frozen foods, and we've got quite a few.
All kept at minus two, yes at home of course you do
Keep the freezer shut but we don't want the glass to spoil the view,
For the public.
Our vegetables are always very fresh, even those flown in from Bangla Desh;
We protect their tender flesh, like babies in a crèche,
With expanded polystyrene or this orange plastic mesh,
For the public.
Well, we buy some produce locally, that's a fact; then we truck it down to Cornwall to be packed.
Then it's sent for distribution to our warehouse, that's in Luton,
Where they find out where it's from and load it up and send it back,
For the public.
We have parking for a thousand cars outside, two bike racks for the folks who like to ride,
And if you travel on the bus, it stops just half a mile from us
And there's one comes every hour with "Eco-friendly" on the side,
For the public.
We are well above the flood plain have no fear, but we've fifty thousand sandbags 'cause it's clear,
Some people just don't care about this planet we all share,
And we don't want global warming to affect our business here,
For the public.
