Play Me A Love Song

There’s so many songs to sing love, a thousand rivers to cross,
There’s a hundred roads to follow in my mind,
But they all lead back to you love, no matter where I roam,
And all I have to do is follow the signs,
My shoes are worn and dusty, my coat’s so ragged and torn,
There’s nothing in these pockets ‘cept the blues,
And there’s nothing in my head now, just the lonesome memories
Of those moon-and-June love songs that we knew,
Well you can cross the seven oceans, searching for that dream,
And try to keep from sinking in the storm,
But you know that home-town feeling is always in your heart,
Sometimes the only thing that keeps you warm,
Well now my nights are cold and lonely, it’s raining in my heart,
The winter frost is on my window pane,
I can hear those winds blowing, rustling in the trees,
As I’m gazing at your picture in a frame,
So won’t you play me a love song,
One I used to know,
The one that we used to call our own,
‘Cause there’s only one face I see when I close my eyes,
And only one place that I call home. So won’t you play me a love
So won’t you play me a love song...
So won’t you play me a love song...
So won’t you play me a love song...
The grass is always greener on the other side of the hill, but there's no place like home. All that glisters is not gold, and it's no use closing the stable door after the horse has bolted. Just play me a love song...
